November Excursions

Woodcock Visit

November is always a short month, but it was busy for members of HSST who focused on long-range plans and long-term partnerships. Historic preservation patron Ken Woodcock visited Stillwater for the first time in decades and enjoyed a whirlwind tour packed into twelve hours.

A Hands-On Donor

Master carpenter Mike Chaves has contributed his talent, expertise and hard work in creating a three-piece bookshelf and cabinet set for HSST.  We are thrilled and very grateful!

Veterans Day in Stillwater

A yellow ribbon encircles the almost 200 year old sycamore tree at the Academy building.

The Stillwater Historical Society expresses its respect and gratitude to all veterans who have served our country since its creation and to those in the military who continue to serve today. The yellow ribbon tied around the enormous Sycamore tree in front of the Academy is an expression of steadfast allegiance and signifies the motto “Support our Troops.”

HSST Hosts 2nd Grade Tour

On Tuesday, November 2nd HSST was visited by the second graders of Stillwater Township School! The mini-field trip to the museum coincided with the children learning about how technology and our community have changed over the years.
