It would be difficult to find a group of students more curious and spirited than second graders. On the morning of October 17th, thirty-six pupils from Stillwater School were led single file across Stillwater Road by teachers Lynda Collier, Kerri LoCicero and Michele Byrd.

Focus on Culture Series presents: Colonial Taverns

Larry Brasher’s stories of Stillwater in the 1970’s are part of the oral history of our community. They are a testimony to the importance of documenting, preserving and revisiting our shared past.

Larry Brasher is a master storyteller whose humorous anecdotes celebrate the heart and soul of this rural community in the 1970s.

From 1965 to 1975, a dam and reservoir proposed for the Delaware River was the source of extreme anguish and outrage for residents of Sussex County and nearby regions. Thousands of families on both sides of the river were forced to leave their homes.
